Global Turnkey Systems (GTS) announces that Church
Publishing Incorporated, publishers for the Episcopal Church, has selected GTS’s
UNISON Business Software, designed for publishers and information providers.
Church Publishing (CPI) selected UNISON over other solutions for many reasons, a
key reason being UNISON met CPI’s functionality needs on a software level. CPI
was also impressed with the professional GTS implementation methodology, the
publishing experience of the GTS team, and the warm relationship that the GTS
team built throughout the process.
The Rev’d Clayton D. Crawley, SVP, Chief
Technology Officer, said, “We selected GTS after looking in-depth at about 15
solutions. We narrowed our search down to 2 and found that UNISON was the
system that best fit our needs. I was impressed by the GTS implementation
methodology, as people and process can make or break any business system
implementation.”
Kenneth Arnold, CPI’s Publisher, said, “We are
excited about the UNISON system and look forward to working with the Global team
on its installation. We expect the system to enable us to generate more revenue
through its ability to supply improved sales analysis, manage our mailing lists,
and provide a range of management reports. Of equal importance is UNISON’s
ability to talk to the other systems we use to run our business. We also-and
it’s no small thing-like the people at GTS.”
Since 1918, Church Publishing Incorporated
(formerly the Church Hymnal Corporation) has produced the official worship
materials of the Episcopal Church. Today, it also offers a wide variety of
books, music, software and online services for Episcopalians and others. In
addition to basic and gift editions of prayer books and hymnals, its extensive
list of titles includes books on liturgy, theology, church history, homiletics,
and Anglican spirituality. It has an online store with a growing list of
recorded music products, pioneering liturgical and musical software, new online
services, and the Seabury Books and Seabury Classics imprints.
Al Alteslane, GTS’s President, said “We are very
proud and honored to be selected by the Episcopal Church to assist them in
improving their business operations. By selecting UNISON, CPI will be able to
meet their goals for increasing efficiency and cost savings while adding
opportunities to serve its clients. The UNISON implementation will deliver
greatly improved decision support and advanced marketing tools. The eUNISON web
front end will give them unequaled web-based customer self-service. UNISON,
being a database independent application supporting both Microsoft SQL Server
and Oracle, will fit in with Church’s corporate architecture and will run on its
Oracle database.”
